Crescent High School exists to prepare, equip, and inspire students to be productive, responsible, and passionate citizens. With the leadership and support of the Anderson School District 3 Board of Trustees and District Office, we continue to provide premier opportunities for our students to excel and embody the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. It is our goal that every graduate of Crescent High School is college and career ready. Our students are developing World Class Skills through our growing and rigorous academic, career, and technical programs. In the 2019-20 school year, the Anderson Institute of Technology opened and made 18 career and technical programs available to our students. Crescent High School also began its first year of the new Building and Construction program.
The Class of 2020 had 171 graduates, 31 Honor graduates, nine Palmetto Fellows, and five SC Academic Achievement Honors Award recipients. Thirty-nine of these exceptional seniors were members of Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), National Art Honor Society, or National Technical Honor Society. Fifteen graduates earned certificates from Tri-County Technical College, and five participated in internships with Michelin North America. The Class of 2020 earned $4,830,532 in scholarships and proved their outstanding character and determination during an unusual and challenging senior year.
The faculty and staff of Crescent High School work diligently to provide a learning environment where all students can be successful. This year, we are incredibly proud of our students’ continued dedication to academics and their strong performance on national testing. While the year concluded differently from most, our students upheld a tradition of excellence in athletic and co-curricular programs as well. Crescent Athletics continues to be an opportunity for students to achieve and excel outside the classroom. Our wrestling team advanced to state semi-finals with one individual state champion, and Crescent Volleyball continued its run of playoff appearances following another strong season. Crescent FFA received a Gold, Three-Star Chapter ranking at the national level, and multiple students received state level recognition for livestock projects and Career Development Event participation. Six FBLA members placed first at the region competition, and one student is a top-five finalist for the YES Carolina Entrepreneurship Student of the year.
At Crescent High School, we appreciate the support of our community and stakeholders. We are proud of our students’ achievements and look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence. Go Tigers!
