Riverwalk Academy is helping all students to develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by ensuring that we create an environment that is built on student inquiry which will provide our students the skills needed to change the world.
Riverwalk Academy engages and promotes student learning through authentic experiences that integrates reading, writing, and researching into all content area. Students are involved in projects that encourage collaboration, problem-solving skills, communication, critical thinking, and self-management skills. With Project Based Learning (PBL), students are posed with a challenging problem or question using the South Carolina College Career Ready Standards. The proposed problem or question lead students into inquiry-based learning and projects that connect to the real world. Students are given voice and choice throughout the project to ensure all students needs and interest are addressed. At the end of each unit, students are able to go public with their learning through a Presentation of Learning (POL).
