Oakland Elementary School is helping all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing academic and social experiences within a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. Our school’s success is the result of a dedicated staff partnered with supportive families, working diligently to provide opportunities that enable our students to achieve their fullest potential.
Oakland Elementary School seeks to provide personalized learning through differentiated instruction, guided reading and math, and our school’s 1:1 technology initiative. We also encourage an emphasis of the 4 C’s (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication) that includes an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning. Students are also provided an opportunity to participate in school clubs and various service learning projects.
We also focus on the areas of health, wellness, and social-emotional well-being. Oakland continued our partnership with Wofford College’s Healthy Eating Decisions Program to implement C.A.T.C.H. (Coordinated Approach To Child Health). Our strong mentoring programs, in partnerships with Boiling Springs Middle School, Boiling Springs High School, and Mentor Upstate, have been a tremendous benefit for our students! This year we implemented Hero Habits—a character program that helps students to develop and use life skills.
At Oakland Elementary, we are living out our mission by putting students first and helping them reach their full potential within a healthy, safe, engaging, supportive, and challenging environment. On behalf of the entire OES faculty and staff, we are grateful to our families for your continued commitment to our school. We love serving our students!
