Crestview Elementary School is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a safe, nurturing and academically challenging environment, which focuses on inquiry based learning to engage them in the learning process. Our teachers and staff utilize best practices to plan and teach rigorous lessons, actively engage students and encourage them to show positive character traits.
Our staff continually strives to improve their abilities in the areas of mathematics, English/Language arts, writing, technology, science and social studies by participating in a wide variety of professional development opportunities. School staff and district personnel provide engaging, hands on activities focused on best practices to help teachers grow professionally. Coaching cycles from our Instructional Coach and Literacy Specialist target specific teaching methods to enhance instructional delivery in the classroom. Since becoming a 1 to 1 school in grades three through five, productive utilization of technology in the content areas has been a major professional focus.
Utilizing the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports program, we focus on encouraging students to become productive citizens in our school through praise, incentives and daily modeling of expectations. This creates an environment where students can thrive and decreases disciplinary issues.
Parent and business partnerships also play an integral role in helping our students develop world class skills. Our school offers many different opportunities for parents and community members to become involved in educating our students on a regular basis. Our PTA and SIC work closely with the teachers to ensure the students have the necessary resources to continue growing academically. Business partnerships allow students to see various career opportunities available in a variety of industries.
Our tagline “WE ARE CRESTVIEW: Community Pride, Academic Excellence” continually drives what we do every day. We have seen our students improve over the past several years resulting in higher state rankings each year. As we continue making positive strides in all academic areas, we would like to thank the Crestview Community for their hard work, dedication and support.
