Hardeeville-Ridgeland Middle School continues to help all students develop world class skills and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by helping each child to reach his or her maximum potential. Our vision is to create a safe environment which will foster leadership and creativity in students while empowering them with tools for the global marketplace. We take pride in our small successes and each child is challenged daily through engaging curriculum, implementation of best practices and instruction provided by a committed staff.
It is every staff members’ desire to help each child know what success looks like and feels. Our teachers work in their professional learning communities on a daily basis reviewing data in order to make informed decisions about teaching and learning. Also, staff receive training with regards to strategies that will help all students succeed. This year, teachers have been trained in: Data Team, PBIS, STAR reading and math, writing across the curriculum, and technology. In addition, teachers and support staff members have been afforded multiple opportunities to attend conferences through the state of South Carolina.
On a monthly basis, students were celebrated by the JCSD Student of the Month Program where two students were recognized by a local car dealership. A group of middle school boys participated in a mentoring program sponsored by male staff in our building. This program addressed participants’ interests and relevant issues facing young males. The guidance department sponsored several events throughout the school year including a career fair, talent show, and awards programs.
Students had the opportunity to earn high school credit by completing English I, and/or IBA I. Hardeeville-Ridgeland Middle School is a learning community in which the administration, faculty, staff, parents, and community work together to ensure students are successful. We are developing future South Carolina graduates and world leaders. Many exciting changes are in store for the 2018-2019 school year and we invite you to be a part of our journey as we continue to achieve excellence.
