Henry L. Sneed Middle School is committed to providing a balanced, well-rounded education by establishing a safe, caring, and academically challenging learning environment. We provide such an environment through the implementation of our school vision: The Future Starts Now! We exhibit this vision by providing educational opportunities and support to equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to perform at their optimal level and by continuous professional development of our teachers in best practices.
Our teachers seek to learn new and effective strategies to meet the new South Carolina rigorous standards. Assisting our students in becoming critical thinkers, problem solvers and team members is one of our main goals.
A Positive Behavior Intervention System has been implemented to encourage good character and positive behavior reinforcement in our school. Students participate in quarterly HERO rallies which celebrate good behavior and announce the team with the highest number of points for the quarter. Winning teams receive various incentives.
Sneed Middle School is particularly proud of the participation of its faculty and students in various charitable efforts. Sneed students have provided food and other supplies through our Beta Club, House of Hope, McLeod Children's Network, Keep Florence Beautiful and Operation Christmas Child. Through such programs, our students and faculty learn about integrity, perseverance and global perspective.
At Sneed Middle School, we believe our young people want to be productive members of society and make a difference. Our goal is to send academically prepared and socially aware students to the next phase of their education and ultimately developing responsible and productive members of society. We could not do it without community members, parents, students, teachers and staff working together in the development of Sneed Squires - Future South Carolina Graduates and World Leaders!
