Pendleton High School has experienced another outstanding year, both academically and with extracurricular participation. We appreciate all of the stakeholders and their contributions to make our school a great place for learning to occur. We believe that a total education takes a committed group of individuals working together to accomplish our goals and carry out the vision and mission of advancing our students and enabling them to reach their potential.
Our school has much of which to be proud. At PHS, we strive to prepare our students to be successful in the future; the completion of an Advanced Placement course is one of the greatest indicators of success in college. A school-wide focus was continued on providing access to A.P. classes for all students. The school has also focused on raising the rigor of all other courses. This focus on rigor and A.P. access has put Pendleton High School among the state leaders in ACT scores. The school was also able to achieve all of the Perkins Indicators for Career and Technology. Results of this caliber would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of both our staff and students. The faculty and staff of Pendleton High School want to make sure that all of our students are meeting the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
We are proud that our students continue to achieve great things academically. The class of 2018 consisted of 195 graduates. Eleven graduates qualified for the prestigious Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, and 131 qualified for Life Scholarships. School EOC scores continue to be among the best in the state.
We also strive for success in our athletic and co-curricular programs. The Bulldog athletic teams had several region championships and several individual state champions. The PHS was selected to perform at Carnegie Hall. The Pride of Pendleton Marching Band won the Upper-State Marching Band Championship. Our CATE competition teams also performed exceptionally. FFA continued its run of success with multiple state championships, and HOSA earned a state championship with several students qualifying for national competition. Additionally, we even had a national winner on our FCCLA team in Life Event Planning.
As the new school year commences, know that the faculty and staff at Pendleton High School believes in you. We hope that each of you will always display pride in your family, yourself, and your school. And together, let’s continue to work diligently to further our achievements by challenging minds, building character, and preparing ourselves for the future.
