ake City Early College High School is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate by preparing students who are equipped with the tools necessary to achieve success.  Our school serves approximately 815 students in grades 9-12.   
 
Through partnerships with Florence-Darlington Technical College, Williamsburg Technical College, and Coker College more than 150 students participated in dual-enrollment classes, earning college credit while still in high school. As part of this partnership, we were able to continue the Lake City High School Early College— three cohorts of students who will have the opportunity to graduate from LCHS with both a high school diploma and an associate’s degree.  
 
A new addition to Lake City Early College High School was the introduction of the Freshman Academy.  This program is designed to enhance the 9th grade experience for our students and provide a smooth transition from middle school expectations to high school expectations.  
 
Our Athletic Department was named a South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) Palmetto Gold and Sportsmanship recipient for the 4th year in a row. Our Athletic Director Matt Apicella, was named South Carolina AAA Athletic Director of the Year by the South Carolina High School League.  Additionally, student athletes have completed more than 2,400 community service hours.   
 
The Lake City Early College High School Career and Technology Education (CATE) Center continues to grow and offers students opportunities to participate in work-based learning through internships and shadowing options. Our CATE program offers courses in Culinary Arts, Masonry, Health Science, Firefighting, Business, and Automotive Technology. In addition, we have partnered with Williamsburg Technical College to offer Welding, HVAC, Early Childhood Care, and Nail Tech certifications for our students.  Additionally, our CATE students participated in the state Skills USA competitions and earned recognition in a variety of areas. One of our Masonry students placed first in his event at the state level and will complete in the national competition this summer.  
 
Lake City Early College High School continued to focus on service learning to help students develop as community members. We increased our community partnerships by establishing mentoring and character education programs for different groups of students. We plan to continue this important work we have started this year in order to provide as much support for our students as possible.
