Boiling Springs High School exists to provide a safe environment where students are academically, athletically, and artistically challenged and supported. Our mission of ensuring all students have access to a quality education entrenched in world-class skills helps us to focus on the whole-child, modeling our progress after the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
We are excited to continue to provide access to the most up-to-date instructional technology resources, providing different learning opportunities, while also making the learning environment engaging.
We will continue to meet with our Teaching and Learning Teams (TLTs) each week during Early Release Wednesday. During this time, teams work together to analyze data, create assessments, and discuss areas of strengths and weaknesses to determine what the next best steps are for our students.
We saw many accomplishments this year in academics, specifically growth in the overall progress of our EOC courses. Algebra 1 and United States History and the Constitution are where we saw the most growth, with an improvement of 14% and 13% C or higher, respectively, from fall 2022 to spring 2023. We have expectations to see our achievement numbers trend upward as we continue to make changes and improvements in instruction.
From the athletic standpoint, we had several major successes for 2022-2023. 18 of our 20 Varsity teams advanced to playoffs, with 3 of these teams winning Region titles; other successes include a state champion in the Triple Jump, 2nd place state finisher in Boy’s Wrestling, and two medalist at state in Girl’s Wrestling. 22 of our athletes signed to play a sport in college, and overall, we had 69 All-Region athletes, with 3 athletes being named Region Player of the Year.
Our fine arts program provided stellar performances this year. Our Bulldog Marching Band, Choral Department, and Orchestra earned several outstanding accolades during both fall and spring seasons. We are looking forward to seeing our fine arts programs continue to showcase their excellence in all they do.
Boiling Springs High School continues to value strong partnerships with our community. This year, we once again saw our annual Homecoming parade, our second-annual Bulldog Trunk-or-Treat, and the addition of our Spring in the Springs community event, seeing hundreds of people in attendance. We welcomed the return of our annual Turkey Bowl featuring flag football amongst our classes with the final game culminating in the winning team challenging the faculty/staff team for ownership of the coveted Spirit Stick.
The pride at Boiling Springs High School is palpable. With a renewed sense of camaraderie and community engagement, our students truly are set to receive a world class education in an environment where they are cared for and supported in all aspects of their lives. With the amazing community support, parental involvement, district-level provision, and faculty & staff excellence, Boiling Springs High School is committed to putting our students first and preparing them for their post-secondary endeavors. In Bulldog Nation, we pride ourselves on creating an inviting environment where everyone can find a sense of home.
