At West View Elementary, we are committed to providing a quality, student-centered education to our students. We do this by continuing to examine our school data, programs, activities, and teaching strategies.
Our #oneteamonedream school theme helped to develop and foster positive school/community relationships. Our staff is committed to serving every student, and our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. The WVES family is committed to providing a school environment that fosters students having a student-centered education.
Our goal is for each unique student to become a life-long learner and responsible citizen in order to thrive in our increasingly global society. Professional development is a priority of our faculty and staff. Teachers and staff participated in various professional development opportunities throughout the school year.
In addition to highly qualified classroom teachers, student learning needs are supported by a literacy coach, interventionists, special education teachers, classroom assistants, and a teacher for gifted and talented instruction. Individualized learning continues to be the focus for the school and the district, providing students with a pathway for personal growth and success.
Our students, faculty, and staff continue to seek to support charitable causes to help our community. West View Elementary collected over 2000 non-perishable items for our district’s food bank. This could not have been possible without the generous support of our school community. Our students are given leadership opportunities and eagerly participate in service-learning opportunities throughout the school year. We have a student-led morning news crew, library cadet program, and an active student council.
We appreciate the support of our families, community, community partners, PTO, and SIC members. We look forward to the continual development of our school and the service to students we provide.
