Carolina High School and Academy is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a safe, caring, and academically challenging learning environment. We provide such an environment through the implementation of our school vision: to create a culture in which the school and community foster academic excellence and the social development of all students in a safe and inviting learning environment. We demonstrate this vision by challenging our students with best practices and deeper learning experiences, while also providing our teachers with continuous professional development opportunities that help them become excellent teachers.
In trying to create our Ideal Graduate our school uses a deeper learning experiences approach that focuses on developing ten key characteristics in every child by the time they graduate. Those characteristics include: goal-driven, critical thinker, accountable, self-advocate, collaborative, professional, civic-minded, creative, work ethic, and passionate. In conjunction with our Ideal Graduate characteristics our students are assessed on our four school-wide learning outcomes, which include knowledge and thinking, written communication, oral communication, and collaboration. This is the perfect balance of holding students accountable for state standards as well as the soft skills that are so needed to be successful in today's ever changing and developing world.
Our faculty and staff are truly committed to “Whatever It Takes!” to make sure that all of our students’ needs are met and that every child can experience growth and success while they are in our building. At Carolina High School and Academy, we believe in our students, in our faculty, and in our community. We believe in Whatever It Takes!
Thank you for your support and your belief in our school and our students.
