Rosemary Middle School is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by continuing to move forward with academic success and school-wide improvements. We are committed to meeting the unique needs of every student and educating the whole child. Our programs include a variety of academic and related arts opportunities, along with various student organizations that help prepare our students for the college or career of their choice. Our community partnerships matter to us, and have had a tremendously positive impact on our students' learning experiences.
This year, our teachers gained profound expertise in digital teaching and learning. Through our weekly PLC with our Curriculum Coach and our district instructional team, teachers worked extensively unpacking their state standards and developing instructional practices to better support the characteristics of the Profile of the SC Graduate. In addition, teachers adjusted their instruction to meet the needs of individual students. Students needing additional support in math and reading were identified and provided assistance individually.
Our Fine Arts Department continued to excel in all areas. The visual arts department had numerous students receive recognition at our district’s Art show, while the Band & Chorus participated in various shows throughout Georgetown/Horry County. They showcased their end of the year talent by having our first ever Arts on the Yard Performance.
With the training from Capturing Kids Heart we were able to focus on teaching students how to be responsible learners and accountable citizens. We treat each other with dignity and kindness to develop a global perspective necessary for success in the diverse world beyond our school walls.
At Rosemary Middle School, our focus continues to be on student learning. We continually strive to be academically, socially equitable, and developmentally responsive so that all of our students learn in a safe and student-centered environment. We continue to analyze our assessment data for the purpose of improving our practices and to ensure that our students receive the best educational opportunities possible.
