Holly Hill-Roberts Middle School is committed to creating an educational environment that will ensure all students succeed in school and in life. Teachers and staff understand that the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired now will be the foundation for future learning. Our school is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by focusing on helping all students develop the skills and career characteristics necessary for success beyond the classroom. The faculty and staff strive daily to maintain high academic standards, to create a school culture that supports and challenges our students, and to provide the foundational skills for student success.
World Class Knowledge – Our teachers used the PLC/Data Teams process to plan instruction to meet the needs of our students. This was evident by our previous SC Ready and SC PASS scores which surpassed the state averages in the Approaching category. Our previous EOC scores in both English 1 and Algebra 1 showed a 100% passage rate with a few students having a perfect score of 100. In addition, our students continued to earn recognition for their academic and extracurricular achievements with outstanding showings in a variety of State-led competitions.
World Class Skills - Technology has played an important role in classrooms this year. All students participated in Digital Literacy and were adept at downloading instructional material, researching and discerning reliable sources of information, and uploading classwork into a digital environment. Due to COVID-19, our students became adept at using their devices to create authentic work such as reflections, essays, videos, artwork, and digital presentations, as well as to enhance communication skills.
Life and Career Characteristics - Our goal is to provide all students with experiences and programs of study that will help make them good citizens. In order to create an environment where all students feel safe and can learn, HHRMS has a boys and girls mentoring program that teaches students desirable behaviors and exposes them to a variety of social and coping skills. We will continue to stress our motto of, "Whatever It Takes!"
