Thank you for your interest in Lexington County School District One. The South Carolina Department of Education publishes district and school Report Cards each year to provide families, employees and community members with important information about school and district performance. The data in this Report Card reflects the 2025–26 school year.
If you are the parent or guardian of a Lexington One student, we also encourage you to review the individual Report Card for your child’s school.
During the 2025–26 school year, students and staff across Lexington One continued to achieve at high levels in academics, athletics, the arts, career and technical education, leadership and service. These accomplishments reflect the talent, dedication and hard work found throughout our 32 schools.
Lexington One students earned state, national and world recognition in many areas. Student-athletes captured championships in archery, cheerleading, golf, swimming, wrestling, dance, track and field, chess and other competitive programs. These honors included team and individual state championships, national recognition and a world championship for Pelion Middle School’s archery team.
Students also excelled in academics, fine arts and performing arts. Lexington One seniors were named National Merit Scholarship Finalists, and students earned state and national recognition in Chinese language competitions, writing, visual arts, speech, theatre, dance and music. Career and technical education students also continued the district’s tradition of excellence, earning top honors in state DECA, HOSA and SkillsUSA competitions in fields such as business, marketing, entrepreneurship, health sciences, manufacturing, technology and skilled trades.
Our employees also received state and national recognition for their leadership, service and professional excellence. Lexington One educators, counselors, administrators, coaches, nurses, social workers, athletic trainers and support staff were honored by professional organizations across South Carolina and the nation. These recognitions are a reflection of the care, skill and commitment our employees bring to their work each day.
The district and individual schools also earned important organizational honors. Lexington One was named one of the NAMM Foundation’s Best Communities for Music Education for the eighth consecutive year. The district’s partnership with the University of South Carolina received national recognition from the National Association for School-University Partnerships. Lexington One’s Finance Department again earned national recognition for excellence in financial reporting.
Several schools were also recognized for excellence in health, academics, sustainability and inclusion. These honors included America’s Healthiest Schools recognition, South Carolina Green Steps recognition, a South Carolina School to Watch® designation and Special Olympics National Unified Champion School designations. We also celebrated schools that made significant gains on the South Carolina School Report Cards, reflecting continued academic growth across the district.
As we celebrate these accomplishments, we remain focused on the future. Lexington One is now in the third year of our current five-year strategic plan, which centers on three ambitious targets:
-
Ensuring that 95% of graduates are college-, career- or military-ready
-
Having 95% of students on track to graduate
-
Increasing the number of elementary and middle school students performing at or above grade level
These targets are supported by our Lexington One Graduate Profile and Instructional Framework. Together, they help define the Lexington One Way — how we work and learn together to support meaningful learning, strong relationships and continuous improvement.
We are grateful for the students, families, employees, Board of Trustees and community partners who make Lexington One such a strong and supportive school district. Through this shared commitment, we continue working to ensure that every student, employee and family in Lexington One feels cared for, challenged, supported, heard, celebrated and prepared.
Dr. Keith Price, Superintendent, and Kathy Henson, Board of Trustees Chair
