Redcliffe Elementary School, a proud Leader in Me school, is committed to empowering students, staff, and families to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Through our shared vision—developed in partnership with students, parents, and community members—we are building a strong foundation while nurturing responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to today’s society.
Being a Leader in Me school means we intentionally develop leadership, culture, and academics through a framework built on Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” This approach fosters a shared language of leadership across our school community, helping students recognize their individual strengths and take ownership of their learning and behavior. Staff benefit from professional growth rooted in collaboration and clarity of purpose, while parents are engaged as valued partners in their child’s development. As a result, our school culture is one where every individual is empowered to lead.
Guided by this framework and the vision of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate, we are equipping our students with world-class skills—critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. At Redcliffe, a Title I school serving 587 students, these skills are embedded across our academic and enrichment programs.
Our school’s focus on rigorous literacy instruction is led by our dedicated instructional coach, who supports teachers with best practices in Reading and Writing Workshop. Regular progress monitoring and formative assessments guide instruction and ensure every student is on track for success. For students needing additional support, targeted interventions such as Read 180 and System 44 are provided to accelerate learning.
In mathematics, instruction is both standards-based and hands-on. Teachers differentiate through whole and small group instruction, and students receive supplemental support in our on-site math lab. Our Robotics Club further enhances STEM learning through problem-solving and innovation, while math intervention programs support learners who need additional assistance.
We also emphasize the development of life and career characteristics. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) help shape responsible decision-making and promote a positive school climate. Our school counselor delivers lessons on character development and provides small group and individualized support to help students grow emotionally and socially.
Leadership opportunities and related arts classes help students apply their world-class skills in real-world contexts. Whether through Student Council, Safety Patrol, Running Club, Battle of the Books, or Robotics, our students develop teamwork, resilience, and a sense of purpose. Community partnerships, such as the Good News Club, reinforce values like integrity, honesty, and kindness.
Our PTO and School Improvement Council (SIC) continue to be instrumental in supporting schoolwide events and initiatives that bring families and staff together, strengthening the critical partnership between school and home.
Through our commitment to leadership, academic excellence, and community collaboration, Redcliffe Elementary is proud to be developing the next generation of leaders and lifelong learners.
