Our school is supporting all students to develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of South Carolina Graduate this year (2024-2025) by having an experienced science teacher to teach our science curriculum. Teachers and students will continue to be engaged with science through Amplify platform and curriculum.
During our guided reading and guided math instruction; teachers will continue to use data to drive instruction through our curriculum. Teachers will be coached and developed on effectively implementing our curriculum. Our curriculum includes Eureka Math squared, Wit and Wisdom and Fundations and Heggrety. Teachers will also go through the LETRS training throughout the year.
We would continue to have two teachers in each classroom with teacher fellows who would rotate in throughout each classroom. This year, teachers will continue to adhere to the South Carolina College and Career Readiness Standards and implement them into their instruction daily. Through creativity and the use of technology; students will be able to use their iPads in K-1 and Chromebooks in 2nd Grade. These devices will enhance and strengthen instructional practices. Our school is a 1:1 technology school which allows each student to have access to their individual devices. Through our special programs, students will be able to engage in activities and tasks in addition to the academic curriculum.
Parental and community involvement will remain a key factor to the success of our students. There would be a parent engagement night each month to connect with families. Additionally, families will have consistent communication through Class Dojo, phone calls, emails, conferences and grade level newsletters.
