At Hemingway MB Lee Middle, we assist students daily with developing the best practice strategies for learning coupled with the life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. We have established high expectations for student learning and are working diligently to provide rigorous instruction, which will increase academic achievement in all core content areas.
Hemingway MB Lee Middle places a high priority on educating students to be prepared to enter high school advanced level courses and have the knowledge to not only succeed academically but socially, excel in an ever-changing technological world. 1:1 school technology is provided to all scholars with Chromebooks. Through this initiative, students are given opportunities to collaborate, problem solve, and create.
In addition, teachers attend Professional Learning Community meetings to share best practices and to analyze authentic real time student work. Furthermore, student learning opportunities are expanded upon in the four core content areas, as well as, a diverse, well-rounded selection of electives and extra-curricular activities.
In Williamsburg County School District scholars are challenged daily to Imagine Greatness. We share this challenge by preparing students to be successful in life. To accomplish this, we focus on increasing the principles of character education and citizenship in our students.
Increasing parent involvement is very important to the success of our school. Parent conferences are scheduled at various times throughout the year to provide important information about the district’s curriculum, student progress, and individual test results. Several Title One parent workshops and family events are scheduled to encourage family participation and provide a platform for collaboration and learning among our parents. We are committed to serving our school community by developing life-long learners and preparing students academically for the next steps in their educational experience.
