Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a caring and engaging environment where students recognize and achieve their fullest potential through individualized strategies that lead to students' success.  Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School is a place where everyone is welcomed and encouraged to be actively involved; everyone will respect and care for all people and things around them; everyone can grow and excel through hands-on science and technology-based learning; and everyone will receive interventions that are tailored to their individual needs.  As a Cognia STEM accredited institution, our students are challenged to excel in a global society with the support of parents, highly qualified professional educators, support staff, and community members (our “village” of stakeholders).

At Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School, we are proud of the hard work, effort, and dedication put forth by our faculty, staff, and students.   JMS is proud to announce that three 8th grade students earned the distinction of being named SC Junior Scholars due to their outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.  Our Algebra I students continue to have a passing rate of 100% on the state End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP). Three 8th grade students were named the sole winners of the CSRA Middle School Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest winners.  During the SCBDA Solo & Ensemble Festival Assessment 16 students received Superior ratings, 8 Excellent, and 3 ensembles and 1 soloist earned Superior with Distinction for achieving perfect scores. A 7th grade student at Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School, was the second runner-up at the district spelling bee and went on to compete at the regional level in Charlotte, NC.

Our active parent community serves on the Superintendent Parent Advisory Council, PTO, and School Improvement Council. Faculty, staff, students, and community members actively participate in our Veterans Day Program, Black History Programs, and STEM/AVID Literacy Nights.

Keeping in step with our mission, we have adopted an AVID state of mind where our school focuses on building systems for student advancement via individual determination.
