Lee Central High School is a vibrant and dynamic community dedicated to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of its nearly 400 students. Supported by a dedicated team of over 55 staff members, our focus is on delivering high-quality instruction and personalized support to create the best possible learning environment each instructional day.
Our School Improvement Team drives continuous progress through targeted strategies aimed at enhancing graduation rates, instructional quality, end-of-course assessments, college and career readiness, and student satisfaction. We celebrate annual increases in these key areas as a sign of our effective efforts. To support our students, we have introduced several interventions, including a weekly tutoring program, summer enrichment opportunities, and tiered counseling and mentoring services.
As our school has expanded, we've created smaller learning communities to foster a sense of belonging. Each student belongs to a House where they receive comprehensive support from a dedicated team, including a House Administrator, an Interventionist, and a School Counselor. This structure ensures that every student receives the personalized attention they need to succeed.
We are committed to preparing students for college and career success by emphasizing academic rigor. Our students are encouraged to enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses or Dual Enrollment programs at Central Carolina Technology College. They also engage in critical thinking through work-based learning experiences and career and technology education in areas such as Sports Medicine, Mechatronics, Engineering, Marketing, Personal Finance, Agriculture, Welding, and Small Animal Care. Beyond academics, students can participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities, including athletics, JROTC, Student Government, Band, Chorus, Recycling, Academic Challenge, and various clubs and service organizations.
Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, we will introduce Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) strategies to further enhance rigor, boost student engagement, and equip students with essential college and career readiness skills.
Looking ahead, Lee Central High School is committed to continuing its tradition of excellence by raising academic standards and continuously improving our practices. We are excited about the successes we've achieved and look forward to ongoing progress to better serve our students and the school community. Together, we will ensure that every student graduates ready for college and career success.
