Cane Bay High School continues to help students develop the world-class skills and knowledge along with the life and career characteristics identified in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by supporting high levels of achievement in academics, the arts, athletics, service, and so many other areas. It is the mission of the entire school community to provide educational opportunities that challenge students in a safe, supportive environment in which academic excellence and high expectations are key. Students also have the opportunity to participate in multiple clubs and organizations that promote teamwork and collaboration.
The fruits of the aforementioned mission are visible in the achievements of the Class of 2024. The class earned over $8.9 million in academic scholarships. Twenty-five students were awarded the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, and 151 students were awarded the Life Scholarship. Student athletes collectively earned over $400,000 in scholarships. Cane Bay High is a district leader in the number and types of courses offered. Advanced Placement, dual credit, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses continue to be among those most requested by students. Students also have the opportunity to take a variety of courses through Trident Technical College. Multiple partnerships exist at Cane Bay High which provide students with experiential opportunities to explore careers in which they have expressed interests. Those partnerships include REV Federal Credit Union (Banking), Berkeley County Sheriff's Office (Law Enforcement), and Berkeley County EMS (Emergency Medical Services). Another such partnership in which students have shown a great deal of interest is one with W International, a company that focuses on advanced metal fabrication and provides welding experiences and job opportunities for graduating seniors. The school community looks forward to the continued growth of these relationships in the future along with the Youth Apprenticeship Program which enables students to earn dual credits while working with employers in the local area.
The Cane Bay High School Improvement Council (SIC) continues to focus on major goals designed to foster student success beyond the walls of the school. These goals include the following: partnering with local employers to increase opportunities for job shadowing, creating a mentoring program for students, and fine-tuning the school-wide advisory program to promote financial literacy, health and wellness, digital literacy, and college and career readiness. Work towards the attainment of these goals advances an environment that promotes critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

The Cane Bay High School community is one that believes education gives students both roots and wings that are established through a solid academic foundation. It is clearly recognized that establishing such a foundation requires a collaborative effort that actively involves faculty, staff, students, parents and guardians, community members, area colleges and universities, various businesses, and organizations. These groups and entities work together in the name of helping all Cane Bay High students build a legacy of success.
