At Riverside Elementary, we dream, achieve and believe in order to succeed! Our school ensures that all students develop world-class life and career skills that fit the profile of a South Carolina graduate. We do this through partnerships with our community, ensuring a safe environment, fostering character education, ensuring collaborative learning, and providing intentional instruction that meets the depths of our rigorous state standards.
The heart of Riverside is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for every student. This year CD-5th grade students continued with the opportunity to learn using 1:1 iPads in the classroom. This impacts student achievement by allowing students access to more individualized instruction and flexibility in their learning. Teachers nurture each child's academic needs by using formative and summative data to monitor growth, set goals, chart progress and celebrate individual and school successes. By embedding character education in all aspects of our school day, our school community strives to provide the nurturing environment necessary to move every student to higher levels of learning by focusing on differentiated and small group instruction through scaffolded lessons.
Riverside Elementary School's leadership team continues to embrace the school-wide focus of developing lifelong learners and leaders as responsible members of society by providing opportunities for students to lead and learn while also providing service to the school and community. During the 2023-24 school year our staff worked diligently to help all students develop world class skills so that they will be successful throughout the rest of their school career and as a South Carolina graduate. Furthermore, collaboration and teamwork are exemplified at Riverside Elementary through our leadership model, use of technology, collaborative planning for individualized differentiation and an emphasis on professional best practices.
