Sangaree Elementary is a primary school serving over 660 students between the ages of 4 and 7 years of age. Our mission is, while in partnership with our community, we will ignite in every student a passion for world-class knowledge and skills through dynamic instruction and personalized educational opportunities. We are achieving our mission by providing a safe, caring, and academically challenging learning environment. We provide such an environment through the implementation of our school vision: To empower all students for success. We demonstrate this vision by challenging our students with best practices to reach their full potential and by the continuous professional development of our teachers.
Sangaree Elementary School is helping our students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by recruiting and retaining teachers who are always seeking to learn new and effective strategies to use in the classroom such as digital learning, science exploration kits, small group guided reading and math instruction. We respond to academically at-risk students with daily reading and math interventions. Sangaree Elementary School fosters the innate desire of our students to explore, investigate and apply learning through a variety of experiences such as Lego Clubs, project-based STEM experiences in classrooms, use of 1:1 mobile devices and research with the use of Google Expeditions. Our students use SeeSaw for Schools to create a digital learning portfolio from Kindergarten to 2nd grade and have completed Common Sense Media training.
We are proud of our strong history of academic success. At Sangaree Elementary, we also have various programs outside the academic world to focus on the development of the whole child. We are excited to be a Leader in Me School to support the social-emotional development of our students. Our guidance department presents character education topics in weekly classroom guidance lessons. Our parents and community are invited to participate in family academic nights throughout the school year in the areas of reading and math
At Sangaree Elementary, we believe the school, family, and community must share the educational responsibility of our young. Thank you for all of your support in helping in the development of our future SC graduates and world leaders!
