Sullivan Middle School is a Middle Years Programme International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Rock Hill School District 3. In addition to IB, we offer a language immersion program in Spanish and French. Our school provides all students with a safe learning environment, rigorous academic work, and diverse extra and co-curricular learning opportunities. We pride ourselves on delivering an education that goes far beyond academics, as we are preparing our students to compete in a rapidly global environment.
Our students are inquirers, and they learn and develop the characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Through the IB Learner profile, Sullivan students are caring, reflective, principled, communicators, inquirers, open-minded, risk-takers, knowledgeable, thinkers, and balanced. Also, our students participate in a service action program called Soaring to Service. This year-long academic course features blended learning formats to enrich students’ knowledge of the global goals for sustainable development as well as an action-service project which allows students to think globally and act locally.
Our teachers collaborate through Professional Learning Communities, and they participate in professional development opportunities such as:
- Personalized Learning

Our school has an active School Improvement Council (SIC) and Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Our SIC and PTO continuously work together to maximize our community partnerships, implement programs that support our teachers, and create opportunities for all students to advance their academic performance and socio-emotional wellbeing. Sullivan Middle School engages all stakeholders to promote a school culture built on high expectations, continuous improvement, and empathy.
