Rainbow Lake Middle School helps students develop the skills found in the Profile of the SC Graduate through the facilitation of a technology-rich, safe, and personalized learning environment. Our school continues to innovate and re-imagine learning by integrating instruction in a one-to one environment utilizing Chromebooks, differentiation, guided instruction, and Response-to-Intervention. These innovations foster critical thinking and problem solving skills in addition to collaboration and teamwork.

An emphasis on world-class skills, combined with world-class knowledge through the use of the South Carolina College and Career Ready State Standards, is preparing our students to face the world armed with twenty-first century skills. Proof of the school’s rigorous standards for career and college readiness was demonstrated when twenty three students were recognized as South Carolina Junior Scholars for their outstanding scores on the PSAT. Additionally, nine students have been accepted  into the Spartanburg County Early College Program. Four students gained acceptance into the Scholars Academy at the University of South Carolina Upstate for the 2023-2024 school year, enabling them to earn college credit throughout high school. We had 10 students score 100, and 71% of students taking the course score an A or B on the Algebra One High School EOC.

Areas such as critical thinking, research skills, problem solving skills, and enhanced communication skills. combined with life and career characteristics, are exhibited in various aspects throughout our school. Rainbow Lake Middle School promotes positive life and career characteristics by offering extracurricular clubs, such as: BETA Club, Student Council, Chess Club, Crochet Club, and numerous athletic programs. In service to others, several of the clubs participated in various philanthropic activities to provide food, clothing, money, and Christmas to those less fortunate. These activities support our community and foster the development of interpersonal skills, integrity, perseverance, and global perspective.

At Rainbow Lake Middle School, our mission statement sums up what we believe to be important– preparing our students for tomorrow’s world by providing effective and innovative practices in a safe and supportive environment.
