Camp Road Middle School (CRMS) helps all students develop the world-class skills and life/career characteristics of the Profile of the SC Graduate by maintaining rigorous expectations and providing opportunities for students to learn and grow.  

To promote learning for all students, CRMS teachers are focused on meeting the South Carolina State Standards in all content areas and using data to inform instruction. At CRMS, we strive to meet the needs of all students through small group and individualized instruction. To support our efforts in the classroom, this year, CRMS used ESSER funds to provide interventionists in both reading and math to support all students' academic progress.

Numerous courses at CRMS allow students to earn high school credit, including French I, Spanish I, English 1, Honors Algebra I, Honors Geometry, and Fundamentals of Computing Parts I and II. We offer college prep and honors courses and gifted and talented curricula to challenge young minds appropriately.

College and career readiness extend beyond the four classroom walls at CRMS.  Outstanding strings, art, vocal, band, and engineering programs that compete at the local, regional, and state levels exist. Additionally, there is an active robotics team, yearbook club, outdoor club, art club, and numerous sports teams.  The student ranks of CRMS include South Carolina Junior Scholars, Duke TIPS scholars, Region IV Honors Band, All-State Band, and scholars with perfect scores on SCREADY and SCPASS. Critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and teamwork are all part of our talented team’s daily work with students.

Connecting with students beyond the classroom allows staff to make personal and global issues relevant for students.  For example, various guidance-facilitated small groups cultivate problem-solving and relationship-building among peers, and a school-wide social-emotional learning curriculum guides students through the challenges of early adolescence. These endeavors are spearheaded by our ESSER funded SEL Counselor and supported by all student services staff members.
