Beaufort Middle School supports and assists all students in maximizing their fullest potential. Our approach is rooted in the firm beliefs that “all means ALL,” and that ALL students can achieve. Beaufort Middle School utilizes an intentional focus on critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and the acquisition of other world-class skills which well-position our students to epitomize South Carolina’s Profile of a Graduate. This focus further supports students in character development, as well as the development of interpersonal skills that prepare them to be excellent citizens and stewards within and throughout their community. Beaufort Middle School’s culture of excellence results from thriving community relationships to further support students socially, emotionally, and academically. Literacy-driven and STREAM-focused learning opportunities provide the instructional foundation that saturates all areas of student academic learning and development.
Beaufort Middle School is an Arts in the Basic Curriculum School, and the Distinguished Arts Program designation provides grant funding to integrate the arts. Artists-in-residence, including collaboration with the Pat Conroy Foundation, provide opportunities to support arts integration in writing, visual, and performing arts. Additionally, Beaufort Middle School is one of seven schools in the Beaufort County School District that fully launched MedTech 7, a magnet program made possible by a discretionary grant awarded to our district through the Magnet Schools Assistance Program. MedTech 7 offers learning opportunities in medical and technology fields for students K-12. These innovative programs provide theme-based courses of study that allow students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue post-secondary education and careers in their chosen fields. We have also received approval to launch Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), a schoolwide program that seeks to prepare all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society. We are honored to be the first school in our district to revive this program in our school!
Beaufort Middle School continues our commitment to excellence by featuring an integrated learning environment for all students that combines a rigorous core curriculum with opportunities to extend student learning beyond the general curriculum, beyond our walls, and within our community, for all students. Our programs address the needs of the whole child through quality standards-based instruction, a nurturing faculty of highly qualified diverse professionals, and a culture of collaboration that prepares students to become 21st Century leaders.
