Schofield Middle School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by developing Ram Scholars who thoroughly exhibit the Cambridge International Learner Attributes: Confident, Responsible, Reflective, Innovative, and Engaged. In consideration of World Class Skills, Schofield Middle School is proud to provide teaching and learning as South Carolina’s first Cambridge International Lower Secondary School. This heralded distinction provides a strong emphasis for providing innovative instructional practices that places learners at the center of lesson-planning, active learner engagement, perspective development, and reflective practice and discourse.
As Aiken County continues to grow and become the global hub for Cyber Technology, medical, and nuclear industries, we strive to provide our students with global experiences to foster interest in global pathways. At SMS, we have an active Academic team which won the district championship. Additionally, we provide students with exposure to the sciences, technologies, and arts through extensive offerings in our core and exploratory courses. Together, we develop Cambridge learners who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged – equipped for success in the modern world. We offer Theatre, PE/Health, Art, Financial Literacy, Computer Application, Problem Solving, Chorus, Strings, and Band in addition to a number of intervention courses to support the interests and needs of all students. As we strive to provide a world-class education to all of our students, Schofield Middle School students are encouraged to take a high school level class before entering high school. We currently offer Algebra 1, Geometry, English 1, and Spanish 1, Theatre 1, and Art 1 for high school credit.
We are excited to continue our academic evolution and partnerships throughout the community. Please feel free to contact the school at any time with questions or comments. Upon your first visit, we’re sure you will agree, “Together we will reach the summit!”
