Dreher High School is helping all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the S.C. Profile of the Graduate by demonstrating high levels of achievement in academics, the arts, athletics, and service at the local, state, and national levels. Over 90% of the faculty have advanced degrees beyond the undergraduate level. Dreher was honored as a silver medalist by U.S. News and World Report among “America’s Best High Schools.” Our school is one of the first high schools in our state designated as an A.P. Capstone Diploma Program School. Dreher’s tradition continues to build on the high standards it demands in academics, arts, athletics, and activities.
Academic offerings include over 24 A.P. courses with passage rates well above the national average and six engineering courses in our Project Lead the Way program. Other CATE opportunities include Heyward Career Center programs, the addition of our Business Finance completer courses, and Teacher Cadet. Chinese, first pioneered at Dreher, continues flourishing in our world language department.
Dreher’s commitment to the community includes student work with Prisma Health, The American Cancer Society, the M.S. Walk, Families Helping Families, Harvest Hope, the American Red Cross, the United Way, 100 Black Men, the Backpack Weekend Program, the Wounded Warrior Project and the “Artists for Africa Project.”
The Blue Devil Nation remains committed to partnering with parents and the community to provide all students with a learning environment that enriches academic, vocational, and personal growth.
