Ninety Six High School is dedicated to providing the students of Greenwood School District 52 the opportunity to develop world class skills as well as life and career characteristics that exemplify the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Our purpose is to educate all students in order to achieve their full potential and become productive citizens in an ever-changing and diverse global society. Ninety Six High School provides a challenging program of study that encourages lifelong academic pursuits as well as impacting students to be leaders within our community and beyond.
The class of 2023 continued the rich tradition of high achievement in all aspects of life at Ninety Six High School. Of the 108 graduates in the class of 2023, 87 of our graduates plan to attend post-secondary institutions and combined for a total of $1.32 million in scholarship opportunities. The class of 2023 had a total of 29 Honor Graduates who maintained a 4.5 or higher GPA during their four years at Ninety Six High School. Also, there were 5 members of the Class of 2023 that qualified for the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship and 87 that qualified for the South Carolina Life Scholarship. Ninety Six High School also had one student to complete the South Carolina Employability Credential program. Through our partnership with South Carolina Vocational rehabilitation, this student has successfully entered the workforce and is doing great. Our students continue to excel in college level work as they have opportunities through Advanced Placement courses as well as courses offered in partnership with Piedmont Technical College, Lander University, and the Russell Technology Center in Greenwood.
The title “Ninety Six Wildcat” is synonymous with excellence in extra-curricular programs. Ninety Six High School students continue to excel in the classroom and on the sports field. Multiple teams and athletes were recognized with various award including several all-region awards, and all-state awards. The Ninety Six Wildcat Academic Challenge Team won their third straight state title in 2023 and traveled to Chicago for the National Academic Challenge Tournament in May. Our award winning Wildcat Marching Band captured an 11th SC Band Directors Association 1A State Championship and Indoor Percussion Ensemble competed in the WGI World Indoor Percussion Championships in Dayton, OH finishing in the top 15 in the very difficult Open Division. The Ninety Six High School Culinary Arts program competed in the 2023 South Carolina ProStart State Culinary Arts Competition in Greenville, SC earning a 3rd place finish and were invited to the South Carolina State House to share their award-winning dessert.
We are proud of our students and their many accomplishments. Our dedicated faculty and staff work hard to ensure that all students feel a part of the Ninety Six Wildcat family and continue to aide our students in the development of positive characteristics that will serve our students well after high school. The outstanding support we receive from the Ninety Six community is a critical factor in the success of our students and our school.
