Allegro Charter School of Music provides a unique learning experience that integrates music into an academically challenging environment. At Allegro, students have the opportunity to develop world-class skills and the life and career characteristics of the Profile of the SC Graduate. With a focus on piano, voice, and another instrument of their choice, students are able to explore the relationships of technology to instruments, social dynamics and song composition, and mathematical formulas to music theory.
Allegro is a music school that has a great relationship with local musicians. We provide monthly performances for our students, as well as regular masterclasses with professionals. Additionally, students can get small-group or individual instruction on an instrument of their choice. It's a great way for students to get hands-on experience and learn from talented musicians in their community.
In addition to music, the school emphasizes technology literacy and digital citizenship, with 1:1 iPads in middle school and MacBooks in high school. The faculty at Allegro is flexible and caring, providing personalized and high-quality education to each student. The Allegro community is also incredibly supportive, with a high degree of parent involvement and input.
As a school, our goals are as follows:
Goal Number One: Data-Driven Decisions-Taking a systematic approach for analyzing and collecting data. Our staff consistently reviews school-wide data during our weekly meetings and professional learning communities to inform our instructional practices.
Goal Number Two: Instructional Leadership- Teachers and administrators collaborate weekly on establishing best practices, and planning engaging and differentiated instructions for all learners.
Goal Number Three: Engaging Culture for Learning- As a school, we look for opportunities to celebrate students both inside and outside of the classroom. We host monthly celebrations to celebrate both our students and faculty. As a school, we continue to foster parental engagement.
