Bridges Preparatory School engages all students to develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by...pursuing our mission to provide students equal access to a high-quality K-12 whole-child education that maximizes academic excellence and strength of character in a student-centered learning environment created by a faculty of lifelong learners.
Our vision is to assist each child in developing his or her unique gift while creating an environment where all students feel safe to take chances, develop self-agency, and experience memorable academic successes. This is carefully developed through our social, emotional, and academic approach to learning through the responsive classroom. The responsive classroom focuses on creating environments that enhance student-student and teacher-student relationships through a diagnostic approach of support throughout the school day. Bridges Preparatory School prides itself on educating the whole-child through instructional strategies that create memorable moments in a student's educational career.
Bridges prepares students for college or career by reinforcing the characteristics of quality citizens who serve their community through intentional opportunities and positive interventions.
Bridges’ educational foundation is built on the Paideia Method of teaching with a strong focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Paideia Methodology teaches world-class skills such as creativity, critical thinking, and communication through the use of collaboration and teamwork. The infusion of S.T.E.M. principles throughout our curriculum prepares students to be college and career-ready. Students are encouraged to become innovative in their thinking while immersing themselves in a rich informational, media, and technological atmosphere. With our robust Project Lead The Way curriculum for coding, engineering, cyber security, and problem-solving, we are developing high-quality citizens who will compete in an ever-changing global economy.
Bridges Preparatory School has grown tremendously since 2013. Our school graduated its fourth senior class, as we have transitioned to a K-12 school. Bridges Prep was also named a School of Distinction in 2017 by the South Carolina Public Charter School District for its academic performance, governance, and financial success. In 2022 Bridges Prep was named a National School of Distiction for Project Lead The Way and a National School of Distinction for Paideia. Our school currently has a waitlist of close to 600 students, while growing in enrollment to over 1360 students. Our amazing growth is due to our school's phenomenon-driven teaching and learning, as well as a whole-child approach to building quality relationships.
As we venture into the next 10 years of our charter our focus will shift to the power of "one". This involves focusing on how each student grows and learns in a way that is right for them. This also means making the educational journey not just personal, but personalized. Our school will connect teachers, administrators, students, and the home, so we can give the time, care, and attention that every student deserves. We will all work together to reshape how students learn, thrive, and succeed. From that very nervous first day of kindergarten to the buzz and planning of a college and career and beyond, we are here for that "one student - one dream - one future" focus which we will do 1360 times this year.
Together We Are...................BUCS!
