2023-2024 was an amazing school year. We had the opportunity to help our students lead, learn, and grow. Our mission, in Spartanburg School District Three, is to provide experiences and teach world-class skills and values which empower all children to achieve their fullest potential. In collaboration with all stakeholders, we worked to build a strong foundation based on data assessment. We offered personalized literacy and number sense instruction, as well as authentic hands-on and instructional technology necessary for the future careers of our students. Students experienced many opportunities to excel both inside the classroom and through distance learning, develop communication skills and relationships with friends and teachers, foster creativity, become community-minded citizens, and make healthy lifestyle decisions.
Pacolet, SC is a very close community, with many families spanning over three or more generations. Numerous parents and grandparents of PES students, along with many faculty and staff, also attended Pacolet Elementary School. We are very fortunate to have the support of many area volunteers, businesses, and churches. While we value and uphold our family traditions, we also encourage students to explore colleges and professions that are unique to their interests. To give back to our community, PES students were involved in activities to support the local homeless shelter and animal shelter.
In upholding our mission of providing experiences, skills, and instilling positive values in our students, Pacolet Elementary offers many enrichment activities. Some of which include art, music, physical education, computer lab, and media center classes, Art ATLAS, Music ATLAS, Academic ATLAS, Singing Panthers, Running Club, Girls on the Run, school performances, Jr. Beta Club, character education, Terrific Kids, the Kiwanis’ Multiplication Medallion Challenge, Student Council, student news network, and field experiences. PES also houses a Parents as Teachers program, afternoon Kids Club for students in grades 1-5, The First Tee program, and Broome High School Service Learners.
Pacolet Elementary School maintains and communicates a purpose and direction that commits to high expectations for learning. Our statement clearly focuses on student success and ensuring that students are challenged to learn. Instructional technology continues to broaden the depth of the curriculum school-wide. Our faculty and staff are committed to being life-long learners by researching and implementing a variety of instructional strategies in the classroom to improve reading comprehension and number sense. Teachers also received grants from a variety of donors to enhance learning and student fitness in their classrooms.
Through the commitment and dedication of all stakeholders in the Pacolet community, Pacolet Elementary School continues to promote a safe and nurturing learning environment for students that provides personalized learning opportunities to meet each child’s individual needs. While pursuing excellence in all students, we are “All-In” and proud to support every child, every day, whatever it takes!
