The 2022-2023 year was fruitful at Blaney Elementary School. Our Title I school continued to meet the responsive academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of our students every single day. Blaney continued to forge and strengthen relationships with the community through networking and support from our stakeholders. The Be Great program continued to provide additional opportunities to well over 150 students every day. Certified teachers and staff members provide tutoring services through these entities and are credited for the incredible outcomes from these programs.
Highly qualified, hard working educators carry out the mission and vision of Blaney daily to ensure rigorous instruction aligned to the South Carolina College and Career Ready Curriculum Standards. These individuals work tirelessly to deliver the whole child instructional approach required if students at Blaney are going to continue to receive the kind of experience that Blaney's reputation demands.
Professional learning committees make strategic instructional changes through data disaggregation to deliver appropriately leveled instruction to each student by setting goals, progress monitoring, and celebrating student successes. Teachers continue to enhance their teaching acumen through professional development that is offered throughout the year. These training sessions inform and refocus our educators with knowledge of best teaching practices and collaboration opportunities.
Blaney Elementary School’s success is only possible with the support of an involved, vocal School Improvement Council, active PTA volunteers, and generous business partners. The Wildcat Family is blessed to have incredible stakeholders to help them develop into responsible, lifelong learners that contribute to society.
School-wide goals for the 2023-2024 school year will focus on comprehensive communication and partnerships with stakeholders, strengthening tier 1 instructional strategies in all subject areas to improve academic achievement, and continuing to participate in the state department's CLI (Collection Leadership Initiative) program to foster leadership among all staff members at Blaney Elementary.
