Cherrydale Elementary School is helping all students develop World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a quality instructional foundation that encourages academic excellence for all students while developing skills of life and career characteristics that will prepare students for graduation and reach far beyond the classroom. Throughout the school year, our faculty and staff participate in professional development opportunities in all content areas. Our professional development activities provide teachers with the knowledge, skills, and practices required to successfully implement the best instructional practices. Instructional practices include inquiry-based learning, practical hands-on opportunities, and the incorporation of technology-designed lessons to enhance student achievement. Cherrydale Elementary School continues to improve student achievement by implementing innovative instructional programs delivered by quality personnel.
All of the students at Cherrydale Elementary School are continuously challenged through small group instruction, co-teaching, direct classroom instruction, and various research opportunities at all three levels of tiered support and intervention. Throughout the year, students’ learning experiences are enhanced through 1:1 technology implementation and various technological tools and programs to support highly qualified instruction such as Lexia, Dreambox, IXL, Reflex, and MobyMax.
To meet the academic needs of our students, additional extended learning opportunities are provided through our Panther Academy, afterschool programs, and Summer Bridge program. Our faculty and staff celebrate and recognize students’ positive choices daily, weekly, and monthly through our Cherrydale House System, Trailblazer awards, Student of the Month, and Terrific Kids programs.
