Spearman Elementary School is a National Blue Ribbon School with a long history of academic excellence. Our school has been recognized for its high levels of achievement in both math and reading, and has been awarded the Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards. We are recognized as "Excellent" on the SC School Report Card for our academic achievement on the SC Ready state test. Spearman is also a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Lighthouse School. In addition, we have recently been chosen to be a National Model PLC School for our work with Professional Learning Communities, where our teachers work collaboratively to ensure all students receive the best possible instruction so that all students grow and learn at the highest levels possible. Spearman is an AdvancED Accredited School, which means that it has met the highest standards of educational quality.

Related Arts: Students are provided weekly classes in Art, Music, Guidance, Physical Education and S.T.E.M.

Leader in Me School: This program teaches students the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which helps them develop skills that can help them be successful in school and in life.

PBIS (Positive Behavior Implementation System): This system helps to create a positive and supportive school climate by teaching students how to behave in a responsible and respectful manner.

Title I School: This designation provides Spearman with additional funding to support students who are at risk of academic failure.

1:1 iPad: All students at Spearman are issued an iPad, which they use to access educational apps and resources.

Student Council: This student-led organization helps to promote school spirit and student involvement in school activities.

Strings: This optional program teaches 5th grade students how to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass.
