Our partner school, Center for Knowledge (CFK) continues to be recognized as a Magnet Schools of America Demonstration site, hosting visitors and pre-service interns. CFK continues to serve K-5 students with a focus on Core Knowledge. Teachers are thoughtful and intentional in designing learning experiences that incorporate the Core Knowledge learning sequence and SC State Standards and continues to be a model center in the district. CFK offers a premier educational opportunity for students looking for an accelerated pace and exposure to a rich curriculum.
E. L. Wright celebrates another amazing year with our staff, students, parents and community thriving and growing in a variety of ways. We continued to stay true to our focus on high school readiness in three years. Our awesome teachers maintained an intentional focus on instructional pedagogy to support student achievement goals, collaboration, and using data to inform instruction. They stepped up the challenge of being creative and innovative in teaching our students to be critical thinkers.
Warriors have continued to excel in relationship building and increasing academic performance. This year we turned challenges into opportunities. It also required meeting the social and emotional needs for adults and students. Faculty, staff and administrators continued with the implementation of Capturing Kids' Hearts, as well as designed rigorous course work for online and face to face learning. Through intervention time periods, our teachers offered numerous hours of tutoring during each school day. Additionally, we provided content recovery session after school as well as offering the opportunity for students to participate in the I-tutor program. Relationship building, increasing academic performance and teacher retention in our school continued to be our three primary targets this year.
We are proud that E.L. Wright Middle School students have been recognized with several accomplishments for the 2021-2022 school year. This year the Band and the Orchestra receiving high rankings and were recognized for the 2022 school term. Awards received were Midland Region Orchestra Award and Superior ratings for the 2022 SCMEA Performance Assessment. E. L. Wright also recognized a number Junior Scholars for there many academic talents.
Our International Baccalaureate (IB) and Leadership Academy at Wright (LAW) programs were both re-certified by Magnet Schools of America. Additionally, we welcome our first group students in our Dual Language Immersion program.
As a continued part of our serving learning efforts, our awesome students, faculty, staff, community members and friends accepted the Principal Heart Challenge in January. As a team, we donated funds to the Heart Foundation. Our community partnerships continue to grow. Neighborhood partnerships continue to support our students and our faculty.
Quarterly formative assessments show continuous growth for the first three quarters of the school year. All of our efforts continue to support our premier goal of high school readiness and focus on the world class skills of profile of the South Carolina of Graduate. Three to Get Ready! Our incredibly dedicated teaching staff keeps our focus on creating an academically engaging and relationship-building culture as we continue to challenge ourselves to be better at everything, every school year.
