Dorman High School and the Dorman Freshman Campus help all students develop world class skills, life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Our school prepares all students for their future in a safe, challenging, nurturing, and positive learning environment. We are committed to providing all students with first class opportunities in academics, fine arts, athletics, clubs, activities, job shadowing, and community service. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for every student to be actively involved outside of the classroom and we believe that will help them to be more successful post-graduation.
Dorman High School and Dorman Freshman Campus are pleased to report that 796 Cavaliers graduated this year. The 2022 seniors earned $26,230,341 in scholarships for college. Our seniors have been well prepared for their future, and we are excited to see the positive impact they will have on our community. 71% will be attending college with 2.6% have chosen a military career. The success of our students is a reflection of the commitment of our dedicated, talented, caring, and professional teachers. We are also very fortunate to have a very supportive, dedicated, student centered, and active superintendent, district office staff, and board of trustees. Every decision made at Dorman and in Spartanburg School District Six is focused on the safety, education, and development of our students as we prepare them for their future.
We are committed to preparing our students to be college and career ready by providing students with the opportunity to take both AP and dual enrollment college courses in high school. Our students earned over 3237 free college credits in our AP and dual enrollment programs this year. Spartanburg School District Six developed schools of study at Dorman to systematically organize both core courses and elective courses in order to help students select clusters of study and majors. Dorman High School offers five schools of study: 1) School of Arts, Humanities, and Communication, 2) School of Business Management and Information Systems, 3) School of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Industrial Technology, 4) School of Law and Public Service, and 5) School of Medicine and Human Services. Students and staff at our schools have many occasions to have a positive impact on our community. As we prepare our students for their future in the areas of academics, fine arts, and athletics, we also stress to them the importance of character, community service, and helping others.
