Our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by develop a community of lifelong learners who meet the global demands of the 21st century through challenging educational programs.
We are located in Chester, SC. We are a public high school with a current enrollment of 800 diverse students in grade 9 - 12. CHS is accredited by the State of South Carolina and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). We utilize a block schedule (4 periods) for each semester.
Chester High School is under the leadership of Dr. Duane Graham, who serves as principal and is assisted by the School Improvement Council Chair, Joyce Cooper, Special Education teacher.
We are developing world class skills by developing and implemented a Freshman Academy, which provides an alternative schedule to meet the needs of 9th grade students in English, math, and Human Geography. Chester High School offers a vast array of courses, including Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, Honors, and College Preparatory classes. Our goal is to ensure that all students learn at high levels and we accomplish this objective by providing our teachers with responsive feedback and professional development that meet their individual needs.
