Ebenezer Avenue is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by creating an environment where students are allowed to be creative and innovative, while upholding rigorous learning standards. Students are encouraged to use critical thinking skills, collaboration and teamwork to problem-solve, resolve conflicts, and persevere to attain goals. As 21 century learners, our Eagles are provided with 1:1 technology in grades kindergarten through fifth.
The 2021-2022 school year brought another year of adjustments and challenges for all stakeholders. Together we navigated health and safety guidelines, welcomed students and staff from three schools closed in our district, and focused on solidifying tier one based instructional practices, while ensuring all Eagles received instruction to meet World Class skills.
Our mission at Ebenezer Avenue Elementary is to empower all Eagles to be passionate about learning so they will thrive in a diverse community. Our campus houses three programs that bring unique opportunities for our Eagles to thrive in personalized programs that best suit their learning style. Both our Montessori and Inquiry programs are part of our district's School of Choice offerings. Our programs at Ebenezer foster student discovery, reflection on learning, and curiosity that leads the learner to be innovative in their growth so they will flourish as world class citizens.
World Class Knowledge for our students begins with our staff continuously engaging in professional development on best instructional practices to meet the learning and growth of our students. Our teachers engaged in professional development throughout the year to ensure we have math tools in our students hands that lead our Eagles to be able to explore and engage in mathematical concepts, technology strategies to enhance student outcomes, delivery of instruction in ELA, and restorative practices.
In the midst of many changes in our society and challenging times, our Eagles (students and staff) have learned what it means to persevere. Our staff continued to engage our Eagles by receiving grants that will engage our learners in and out of the classroom, provided field studies which brought learning outside the school walls, and ended the year with a literacy parent event to begin welcoming our families back into our school.
Our goal at Ebenezer is to continue providing innovative learning experiences while creating an environment of life-long learners that's filled with compassion, loyalty, and commitment. We believe that relationships are at the forefront of creating a culture that is safe for all. Together we will continuously strive for improvement that builds on our foundation. We are stronger together!
