Greeleyville Primary School is committed to providing students with positive, life-changing learning opportunities designed to meet their individual educational needs. We strive to help all students develop the World Class Skills of the South Carolina Graduate by utilizing research based best practices that promote creativity, critical thinking, effective communication, and collaboration amongst their peers. The teachers and staff are committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all students as we prepare them for successful college and/or career choices.
Although we were faced with some challenges this year, we modeled for our students the importance of optimism and perseverance when seeking to accomplish our goals. We encouraged our students to dig deeper in their learning by asking guiding questions and by providing a variety of resources for students to independently research, explore, and discover.
Our students are required to master rigorous learning standards identified by the SC Department of Education; therefore, the effective implementation of MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support), was paramount. Teachers followed structured schedules and curriculums that provided additional and supplementary opportunities to meet the needs of all students. Furthermore, many students received foundational support from their classroom teacher as well as from a reading or math interventionist.
As a proud part of the community, we have a rich history of family and community outreach and parent support and collaboration. Our community plays an active and supportive role in our students’ success, aligned with our mission to achieve excellence at our school. Our local business partners play an essential role in helping to provide incentives, services, and resources for student achievements, support of student clubs, and other school- related activities.
Our faculty and staff worked hard to meet the academic and social needs of our students through the various instructional formats. Opportunities were provided for our teachers and administrators to participate in meaningful and ongoing data- driven professional development. While our school year was unique, we are committed to moving forward to ensuring the successes of all the students who attend Greeleyville Primary School.
We commend our parents, community, teachers, and students for their efforts in making GPS a safe learning environment for our future leaders to learn and grow. We SOAR: We are Safe, Orderly, Accountable, and Respectful. Together we will continue to “SOAR to EXCELLENCE.”
