Our school is helping all students develop the World Class skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by developing lifelong learners. Although many challenges were, again, present during the 2021-2022 school year, our students, families, faculty and staff worked together to make it a successful year at Arcadia Elementary. Through thoughtful planning and delivery, our students demonstrated growth in reading and math. We are proud that our students met the school's pre-established growth goals for reading performance on the i-Ready diagnostic and SC Ready state assessment.
Our instructional team worked closely with our teachers to create meaningful lessons to engage and grow students. The information gathered through assessments such as i-Ready and DRA were used to determine each child’s strengths and weaknesses. Data was organized and discussed to inform and drive instructional practices.
This year, effective communication remained an essential part of our identity, and we are proud of the warm inviting atmosphere that has been created. Our families received grade level newsletters, school monthly calendars, electronic communications and social media to help stay informed of classroom and school happenings. Our school environment invites creative action from our parents, students, teachers, and community to provide opportunities for student growth. Our active School Improvement Council met throughout the school year and reviewed and discussed school-wide goals and student data. Our SIC Family Fun night had a tremendous turn-out and achieved the goal of providing family fun and building school community.
In the coming year, we look look to build on the momentum from the 2021-2022 school year. Our high expectations for individual well-being, academic, social, and emotional growth, will continue to drive our decision-making. A strong foundation is being established at Arcadia, and our shared commitment to helping all students develop into successful lifelong learners.
