In alignment with South Carolina Department of Education, Clay Hill Elementary School aims to provide world class knowledge and skills to produce students who reflect the Profile of a South Carolina Graduate. The work begins in elementary school, and we are accepting of the charge.
Clay Hill Elementary School is a small yet powerful school with large impact. We serve approximately 160 students in grades PreK-5. We are a Title One school located in Ridgeville, South Carolina.
Academically, our top priority is to ensure our students are reaching their highest potential and beyond. We believe in providing intervention to fill gaps and offer challenges to ignite creativity and critical thinking. To assist with meeting the needs of our students, we have incorporated several different digital resources to maximize student achievement such as: DreamBox, Moby Max, Reading A-Z, Flocabulary, BookFlix, Epic Books, etc.
We understand students’ needs must be cultivated beyond academics. Therefore, we provide opportunities that connect with our students outside of the classroom to include: the 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program, Digital Citizenship lessons, the MUSC Wellness Program, CHES News Team, Basketball, Soccer, Cheerleading, a school garden, Career Day, etc. We also connect with local businesses to participate in a Day of Caring which adds various contributions to our school. In an effort to keep our community involved, we host events such as: Grandparent’s Day, Awards Day, School Improvement Council meetings, Academic Nights, and have a monthly Mystery Reader who is either a teacher or a community member. Additionally, we use Facebook and our school webpage to share a collaboration of events and special moments that transpire at Clay Hill Elementary.
Clay Hill Elementary is a great place to see success prevail. Small in number but big at heart, our school provides experiences beyond one’s imagination. Our current achievements and future endeavors would not be possible without devoted faculty and staff members, students, parents, and our community. We are thankful for our village.
Clay Hill Elementary will continue to strive for greatness, compete for excellence, and attain success by working endlessly to ensure our students are provided with opportunities and experiences they are deserving of receiving!
