Our school works with students to develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the SC Graduate by focusing on content knowledge, life skills, and characteristics of good leaders.
Our goal is simple. Students will leave us with the academic and decision-making skills that prepare them to face different situations and make the best possible decisions as they move through school and life. To help foster decision-making, Townville focuses on building leadership talents embedded within academic and arts instruction. The leadership skills focus on ways to think critically, problem solve, collaborate, communicate and research. Another integral component is teaching students ways to demonstrate interpersonal skills, perseverance, work ethic, and integrity as a student and community member while providing them with rigorous instruction in their academic areas. This philosophy and practice is aligned to the Profile of the SC Graduate. Along with focusing on high academic standards, we integrate critical skills and characteristics such as: trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, motivation, problem-solving, goal-setting skills, teamwork, achievement, and valuing diversity in a global society. By developing the whole child - socially, emotionally, academically, and ethically, we foster a school climate that promotes children to find greatness in themselves by working hard and doing their best!
Students are involved in problem-solving processes and plan projects that lead to mastery of content in all areas. Students will apply the rigor of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics as part of their problem-solving skills. We work to educate students to become logical thinkers, effective communicators, and technologically, scientifically, and mathematically literate.

- Michelin's Challenge Education initiative from US2 Sandy Springs Plant organizes tutors and mentors who are a regular part of Townville's academic program. Our Michelin "Friends" assist with other community functions such as spring carnival, PTO events, and field day. Michelin is truly a partner in education with Townville. Michelin has helped to create an outdoor learning lab and was awarded an environmental grant to use at Townville.
- Two community service projects which the student body promoted were: collecting toiletries for a local nursing home and collecting can goods for a community service agency.
- Each fall, our school hosts a 5K and Family Mile, Turkey Trot, to promote fitness and health in our school and larger community.
We continue work to support emotional, alongside academic, needs of our school family. We have a mental health counselor from the Department of Mental Health part-time who works to meet needs of students and families who need therapy and additional support. The importance of academic engagement is shared with families regularly. We remain focused on taking care of and growing our students emotionally and academically.
