Although live performances were not allowed in the fall, students in band and orchestra continued to excel in the classroom. Live performances were held for parents in the spring, and band students held a successful outdoors concert, during which several students who earned district level honors were recognized for their accomplishments. Students in the drama enrichment program performed a monologue for the community in the late spring.
Students at Blue Ridge Middle School collaborate daily as they complete classroom assignments and engage in teamwork. Students and staff participated in Rock Your School, which was designed to reinvigorate school culture in the midst of the pandemic. Students dressed up according to certain decades, competed against each other in fun and engaging activities, and laughed along the way. The week reminded us of the importance of building relationships and having fun while at school. It provided an opportunity for staff to check on the social and emotional well being of students and each other.
In athletics, teamwork and collaboration were demonstrated by players and who produced winning records throughout the season. The season was capped by a Regional Championship earned by the baseball team.
