Our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by creating a school culture that is focused on inspiring children to dream, explore, and inquire about their future career or college.
The 2020-2021 school year has been a year that has been anything but ordinary for Graniteville Elementary. Just last year it all started with the introduction of Gregg the Gator, our school mascot, and our Ice Cream and Books Community Outreach in July. Then, we officially opened our doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony, Open House, and Meet the Teacher in August. Graniteville Elementary students, teachers and staff came together from many different places to establish a school like no other. This year, during the first months of school we were on hybrid attendance schedules and plotting our way with distance learning due to Covid 19. In spite of health and safety protocols that caused us to wear masks, socially distance and remain in home groups we did not change our commitment to teaching, learning, and most importantly, loving one another. Our focus at GVES is teaching and learning everyday with an emphasis on getting the little things right. That means we strive for our students to be fluent in both reading and math. It is our aim that we equip our students to achieve whatever they can dream. As we look toward our future we will not take for granted the opportunities that we have to learn together and we will continue to answer the call to teaching and learning everyday while getting the little things right.
