As we begin the 2020-2021 school year, we are faced with many concerns and challenges that relate to the opening of school and the entire process of how the education of students will take place. The 2019-2020 school year began with excitement and commitment from everyone to make it a banner year. Student performance was at the top of our agenda and we made plans to address all of the other significant areas of student educational paths. Well, as you are fully aware, the District was hit with changing the educational paths abruptly in early March. We had to change the educational environment for students and learning was changed to remote learning, Google Classroom and learning packets.
Much of what was done during the first few months of the previous year may have to continue as we begin our journey into the 2020-2021 school year. We look forward to an exciting academic year with unlimited opportunities for the students. As we partner with our parents, we know the year will be different from what it was in the past. Vital to education is excellence, creativity and innovation. We anticipate full cooperation from the parents, students and community. We will need to work together to encourage the students, faculty, staff, and each other. Student schedules will be quite different this school year and the schools anticipate many rewarding experiences for the students. There are core values that we hold dear to the education of our students. We must uphold each one of them as our students strive to maintain their highest potential. We continue to take learning very seriously and safety is always our greatest concern. We encourage our students to take appropriate personal and collective precautions while learning, working and achieving in Bamberg School District Two.
Also, as this year begins, we will move into our new school facility. We look forward to having our students, faculty and staff begin the year in a totally new environment with initiatives and opportunities for learning. I am confident the year ahead will be full of rewarding experiences for the students, faculty and staff whether we are online, face-to-face, or using an alternative schedule. Health and safety are first and focus will involve learning, exploring, and engaging students are key areas that we will strive to achieve this school year.
