At Andrew Jackson High School, we focus on shaping the future by ensuring every student is prepared for their next step, being career-ready, college-bound, or service-strong the day after graduation. Our goal is to cultivate world-class skills and the essential life and career traits defined by the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. By offering a demanding academic curriculum alongside diverse opportunities in the arts, sports, career and technology education, and JROTC leadership, we provide a comprehensive education that empowers our students to excel on regional, state, and national stages.
In the 2025-2026 school year, our graduation rate soared to 91.4%, improving from 87% in the previous school year. Our students achieved a composite ACT score of 16.2 and a mean SAT mathematics score of 480.
Serving as the designated arts magnet school for the district, we are proud to provide six distinct areas of concentration: visual art, dance, drama, piano, chorus, and instrumental music/band. Participants in these programs have the opportunity to earn AP or honors credits and frequently represent our school in district, state, and national competitions, where they gain significant recognition for their artistic achievements.
Our campus provides robust career and technical education designed to prepare every student for the professional world. Within our facilities, students can achieve certifications in diverse fields such as business, architecture and mechanical design, health science, sports medicine, auto mechanics, building construction, and agricultural education. Furthermore, the Lancaster County Career Center offers an even wider selection of career-focused courses accessible to our students.
Collaborations with Winthrop University, York Technical College, and USC-Lancaster allow our students to obtain dual credits, strengthening their academic records for both high school and future collegiate endeavors. Highlighting the success of these programs, 6 students received York Technical College certifications and 5 members of the Class of 2026 attained associate degrees from USC-L alongside their high school diplomas. These accomplishments reflect our students' drive and the strength of our academic support systems.
To drive our ongoing progress, we have implemented a structured feedback system involving recent graduates. This initiative allows their post-graduation experiences to directly shape our instructional methods and future program enhancements.
Recognizing that student involvement outside the classroom is a key driver of success, we offer extensive extracurricular opportunities. This includes 15 competitive Class AA athletic teams, as well as numerous clubs focused on service, academics, and unique hobbies. Such participation helps students cultivate vital soft skills like leadership, perseverance, and teamwork—traits that remain invaluable long after they graduate.
The faculty and staff at Andrew Jackson High School are committed to making the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate a living reality for each of our Volunteers through their unwavering dedication.
