Crowders Creek Elementary School remains committed to our motto, “Where Young Minds Soar.” Serving approximately 750 students in Pre-K through fifth grade, we worked collaboratively to create a safe, welcoming, child-centered, and inclusive environment that supported the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of every student. Our schoolwide SOAR expectations- Seek smart solutions, be Onboard with learning, Act responsibly, and Respect others- were reinforced throughout the year as we remained focused on promoting college and career readiness and healthy living across our school community.
Student support and character development continue to be priorities. Counselor-led programming, including Monthly Character Trait Highlights, provided instruction in character, citizenship, mindset, and goal setting. Teachers and counselors collaborated to reinforce these skills through SOAR time, guidance lessons, and the daily SOAR pledge. Student Ambassadors helped organize a career fair and a community service project supporting local families.
Literacy remains a strong focus through library read-alouds, two annual book fairs, increased book circulation, and the continued use of our book vending machine. Technology and STEAM opportunities also expanded, with Seesaw used in Pre-K through first grade and Canvas in second through fifth grades. Our Innovation Coach supported a student “Innovators” group that used technology to enhance learning and share knowledge with peers.
CCE continues to strengthen relationships with families and community partners, including local churches, businesses, civic organizations, volunteers, and community agencies. Strong community support helped provide resources for our Giving Tree, Backpack Program, and Clover Area Assistance efforts. Partnerships with organizations such as Catawba and Thrive counselors also provide valuable support to students and families.
Students benefit from a wide range of enrichment, leadership, and extracurricular opportunities, including the Safety Team, Bible Release, Art Club, Chorus, Girls on the Run, Let Me Run, Battle of the Books, Student Ambassadors, and the Innovators Club. Teacher Cadets participate during both semesters, and students took part in a career fair, Veterans Day celebration, fifth-grade activities, and transition activities for rising sixth graders. The annual Boosterthon fundraiser and WCCE Morning News Show continue to be successful and valued school traditions.
Professional learning and collaboration remain central to our instructional work. Teachers and administrators engaged in PLCs to analyze student data, share best practices, and tailor instruction to student needs. Instructional assistants provide valuable classroom support, while district and state professional learning opportunities helped staff remain current with effective instructional practices. We also continue refining our Multi-Tiered System of Supports to provide targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.
Student achievement is monitored through multiple measures, including STAR assessments, Pre-K PALS assessments, SC READY, and fourth-grade science testing. These data, along with classroom assessments and other sources of student information, guided instructional decisions and interventions. Through the combined efforts of students, families, teachers, staff, administrators, and community partners, CCE continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to SOAR.
