At Cherrydale Elementary School, we are committed to preparing every student for future success by developing the World Class Skills and Life and Career Characteristics outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Our instructional program is intentionally designed to promote academic achievement while fostering critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Guided by our mission and our unwavering commitment to Every Student. Every Day. Whatever It Takes, we strive to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students are empowered to reach their highest potential.
During the 2025–2026 school year, teachers and staff participated in ongoing, high-quality professional learning focused on strengthening instructional practices across all content areas. Professional development emphasized evidence-based instructional strategies, standards-aligned planning, data-driven decision-making, and the effective integration of technology to increase student engagement and academic growth. Instructional practices continued to prioritize inquiry-based learning, hands-on experiences, meaningful collaboration, and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
To ensure equitable access to high-quality instruction, Cherrydale Elementary implemented a comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) that includes small-group instruction, co-teaching models, targeted interventions, classroom guidance, and ongoing progress monitoring. Students also benefited from year-round 1:1 technology access and the use of research-based digital learning platforms, including Amira, ALEKS, Lexia, Flocabulary, , IXL, Newsela, and Reflex, to provide personalized learning experiences and reinforce essential literacy and mathematics skills.
To extend learning beyond the instructional day, Cherrydale Elementary offered Panther Academy, our afterschool academic support program, as well as Summer Enrichment opportunities designed to strengthen student achievement and reduce learning loss. Student success was recognized and celebrated through the Cherrydale House System, Panther Pride Awards, Student of the Month, and the Terrific Kids program, reinforcing positive character, leadership, and academic excellence. Students also had opportunities to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, including Cherrydale Chorus, Soccer Team, PEARLS Girls, Boys Club, Gardening Club, and Dance Team, promoting leadership, teamwork, creativity, and personal growth.
As we continue our journey of continuous improvement, Cherrydale Elementary School remains dedicated to providing rigorous, student-centered instruction and meaningful learning experiences that prepare all students to become lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and productive contributors to their communities. Through strong partnerships with families and the community, a commitment to continuous professional growth, and a relentless focus on student achievement, we will continue to ensure that every student is equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in college, careers, and life.
