Our district is helping all students develop World Class Skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of a South Carolina Graduate by personalizing educational journeys from birth through adult education. Spartanburg School District Four students are presented with high expectations and supported through relationships that foster academic rigor and strong self-discipline. Curriculum is aligned vertically with College and Career Readiness as the focal point, beginning with our youngest learners and extending through high school where students finalize their Individualized Graduation Plans (IGPs).
To meet diverse student needs, we provide multiple learning pathways—virtual classes, Wolverine Express, Alternative School, and Extended School Programs—recognizing that every student deserves access to resources tailored to their needs. The district also practices AP inclusion by offering Advanced Placement and dual credit courses, ensuring students at all achievement levels have pathways to challenge themselves. This comprehensive, personalized approach ensures all students develop the skills and characteristics needed for success beyond high school.
Spartanburg Four develops the soft skills outlined in the Profile of a South Carolina Graduate, including teamwork, leadership, and resilience—through extensive athletic and co-curricular opportunities. Each employee models these values daily through positive attitudes, consistent effort, integrity, and personal character. Our School Board, Superintendent, and Administrative Staff are committed to decisions and actions that prioritize student success and well-being. This shared commitment—pushing students to reach their potential while providing genuine support and care—embodies our vision: "Impacting and empowering students for the future through high expectations, academic rigor, supportive relationships, and the development of a strong work ethic in a safe and orderly environment."
Spartanburg School District Four is committed to developing the whole student. We teach perseverance in the face of challenges while supporting each student's pursuit of excellence. Recognizing that early literacy is foundational to lifelong success, we provide universal full-day 4K and half-day 3K programs. Through opportunities at the RD Anderson Applied Technology Center and beyond, students develop talents and discover their strengths. Our programs reinforce that hard work builds character and shapes future success. We model respect and professionalism, and we expect the same from our students. Most importantly, we help students understand that service to others cultivates purpose, belonging, and accomplishment. "Working together as a school and community, we can continue to provide a foundation for our future that will ensure every graduate an opportunity for a successful future." Dr. Aaron D. Fulmer
